Playing With Fire II Deadlines for Menu and Classes

Just a Gentle reminder that:

  • The deadline to submit menu items for the donation inn is August 1st, 2018, and
  • The deadline for submitting classes is also August 1st, 2018

The donation inn is a fundraiser for the Cook’s Guild. Folks will come around to each of the cooks flying the Inn banner. If you wish to contribute menu items for the donation inn, for either Saturday or Sunday, please submit to me at rex.deaver@gmail.com before August 1st. Also, consider submitting at least one vegetarian dish, so that all may partake.

If I do not have sufficient items submitted to present a reasonable meal for a good number of people, I will cancel the inn. This does not prevent cooks from offering samples on their own, we just won’t be collecting donations.

Classes will be scheduled based on submissions and times requested. Please send your SCA and modern nam, class name, description, and any fees or supplies needed to lorrainegehring@gmail.com before August 1st. Classes that are scheduled will have priority sites assigned within the Playing with Fire dell (Lillies food court).

Cooks who have not scheduled classes are still welcome to set up and participate, but will be allocated space on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please see Mathurin before setting up in the dell, to avoid having to be relocated. I will be available Friday evening until 10 pm, and no later than 9 am both Saturday and Sunday.

 


 

Cooking in a Period way, over fire and outdoors. Classes and workshops, vendors, and more! What could be more fun!

We will be at the Tournament of Horse and Falcons, September 1st and 2nd, in the Lillies Food Court area, renamed Playing with Fire Dell.

Bring your above ground cooking setups. We will be providing several large bags of lump charcoal. If you wish to cook with wood, please purchase locally; do not bring wood from outside of Clay County.  You can also pick up dead fall for fuel, but no tree cutting is allowed. Each cooking location will need to have a fire extinguisher, Class AB minimum.

Merchants are welcome; see the Horse and Falcons event information for merchant fees.

At this time we are taking submissions for classes. Please send your requests to lorrainegehring@gmail.com and include:

– SCA and modern name
– Name of the class and description
– If there will be any fees
