From Their Royal Highnesses: Accepting Fealty in Writing

Calontir EnsignWe thank Calontir for their patience and understanding during these trying times.

Attendance at Coronation must needs be limited as We encourage the populace to be safe. But we understand that many of you take your oaths and your offices very seriously, and for that We thank you from the bottoms of Our hearts. With that in mind, We will be accepting fealty in writing from any who decide that this is not a good time to venture forth, but would like to be in fealty as soon as possible. This is a period practice, as well, though today’s couriers are somewhat swifter than horse, pigeon and boat.

Throughout Our reign We will continue accepting fealty in person, by request, either in court or privately, as is our grand tradition. Know that however you choose to offer your oath of fealty, or indeed, if you choose not to swear such an oath, We will treat all Calontiri as beloved family. This is a personal choice, and We will respect it.

With Love, in these cold days

From Their Royal Majesties: Information Concerning Coronation

Calontir,

We have been in consultation with Their Highnesses, Hirsch and Magda, and Our Seneschal, Galen, to discuss additional ways to reduce risk at the upcoming Coronation and wanted to share the conclusions to those conversations with all of you.

To help mitigate the risks of the Pandemic, we have jointly agreed to put the following measures in place:

  • Pre-registration will now be required and attendance will be capped at 150. Pre-registration closes the evening of Wed 1/5.
  • Everyone who must mask will be required to wear an N95 or KN95 mask. These are now quite easy to get, both in stores and online, so shouldn’t be a hardship for anyone.
  • We will be streamlining both morning and afternoon courts and there will be only a 90 minute lunch break between them. The event will end after the afternoon court, with no additional meetings or classes.

We recognize that this is late notice for changes, but hope that you can help us all to remain flexible with the sometimes rapidly changing conditions in the world today. We very much want to see friendly faces at this exciting time and want to ensure that We can keep seeing those friendly faces long into the future.

From Their Royal Highnesses: Seeking Applications for Additional Advocates

As many of you are aware, several new changes have been made to Calon Law, and we will be seeking to fill the positions of two new Advocates. We strongly encourage our entire populace to make themselves familiar with these changes at https://calontir.org/kingdom-law-change/

The condensed information regarding the Advocate office is as follows:
-The Advocate office is now expanded to three officers, rather than one.
-Advocates will serve three year terms, with one officer rotating out each year.
-The Advocate office is now tasked with helping to investigate and arbitrate disputes between any members of the populace, not just in issues dealing with officers.

We are happy to hear from ALL members of the populace who would petition us for these positions. Because we wish them to be representative of the full variety of Calontir, all petitions will be seriously considered.

If you are interested in one of these positions, please email us at falcon-heirs@calontir.org with a few sentences about why you think this office is important and how you can help serve the kingdom.

We hope to conduct interviews at Toys for Tots and Kris Kinder, but will also look at video conferencing and local meeting options for those who cannot make either event.

From Their Majesties and Their Highnesses – The Passing of Titus Scipio Germanicus, HRH Aethelmearc

Our Dearest Kingdom,

We come to you today with heavy hearts. We are sad to announce that His Highness Titus of Aethelmearc, passed away last night after doing what he loved.

We want to clear up any rumors that might be going around. Their Highnesses were attending Battlemoor when he became short of breathe after fighting. He was taken to the hospital where he was found to have a blood clot, and he did pass.

We are so happy for the time we got to spend with them both at Lilies and here at Battlemoor. We please ask that you respect Her Highness’ privacy at this very difficult time. We grieve with Our Royal Cousins and Our Kingdom and thank you all for your understanding of privacy.

Unto the grieving populace of Calontir do Their Royal Highnesses Logan & Ylva bid solace

In this time of Our collective grief, We want everyone to know that We appreciate that many of you may feel conflicted about attending both Our Coronation and the services for His Grace Ostwald, and that We understand if anyone feels they cannot attend Us. Please do that which will give you the fewest regrets.

We have spoken with the event steward for Our Coronation, Her Excellency Nicolete de St Denis, and there will be a time and place for all of Us to remember and appreciate His Grace. Any thoughts you may care to record, or tokens you wish to give will be transported to Her Grace Kay of Gordon to honor her husband.

If We have spoken to you about participating in Coronation, and you now feel that you cannot attend, please let Us know at your earliest convenience.

We want everyone to celebrate His Grace in the manner they feel is most fitting. This is Calontir, and family comes first.

From Their Royal Highnesses Logan and Ylva

At Grand Court at Lilies War XXX, Their Royal Highnesses Logan and Ylva announced who the Calontir forces would be fighting with at this year’s Pennsic War. While it is traditional that Calontir fights with the Midrealm, it is not uncommon that they align with the East upon occasion. However, this year Calontir does not choose either side. Instead, Calontir will fight beside Their Royal Iren Ferean Majesties of Ealdormere Nigel and Adrielle. Where Ealdomere goes, so goes Calontir.

Long Live Ealdomere!
Long Live Calontir!
