Fire Arrow Demonstration at Lilies Canceled

We’re extremely disappointed to share that the fire arrow demonstration announced previously isn’t going to proceed at Lilies. It was found to be too similar to be a “fire performance,” which is excluded from allowable SCA activities.

We apologize to both Emerick (Eric Shipley), who worked hard to research and create the demo, as well to as everyone who was looking forward to it. Anyone with questions is invited to reach out to us or the Lilies Committee privately.

Replacement Regalia Bid Proposals

From Their Royal Majesties:

We, the Kingdom, are in need of artisans to place their bid proposals for replacing the Kingdom regalia that was recently stolen. We are opening the bids up to anyone who would like to submit one.

You can see all of the items that need to be replaced and submit your proposals via the form here:

http://www.calontir.org/regaliabid.php

Each item or set of items will need a separate bid proposal, and even one requires a “team bid proposal”.

Bids will close at Midnight on May 11, 2019, the day of St. George and the Dragon.

Thank you, Calontir!

Announcement – From the Lilies War Master Scheduler

From Mistress Elasait:

Hello! I am the Lilies War master scheduler.

Except for RUSH classes and things directly to do with the Known World Historic Combat Studies Symposium, everything that appears on the war schedule goes through me.

  • Got a tourney you want to sponsor? Contact me!
  • Got a party you want to throw? Contact me!
  • Got a nifty idea for OAFish fun? Contact the OAFocrats first to get it cleared, and then contact me to get it on the schedule.

I can be reached via email at scheduler@lilieswar.org. While people are welcome to contact me via Facebook in order to ask questions or check if a particular day, time, or venue is available, it will need to come through my email in order to actually end up on the schedule. That gives me a reliable record of everything to check on.

I know lots of cool stuff is going to happen at Lilies, and my job is to make sure it’s on the schedule so people know about it, and to try and help people avoid conflicts like, oh, a Fyrd tourney up against a Fyrd meeting.   So, let me know what cool stuff you want me to schedule!

Please feel free to distribute this on local Facebook groups, etc.

Clothier’s Seminar Schedule

Greetings!

The schedule of classes for the 2019 Clothiers Seminar is now available at https://shirecai.calontir.org/cs2019/  (scheduled rooms are subject to change, but not class times).

The schedule this year features a Martial Clothing Track organized by Sir Mathieu Chartrain, with classes by Duke Ashir, Mistress Eowyth þa Siðend, Master Jack Banyard, and Sir Mathieu!

We still have space available if you have any heraldic garb for the display at this year’s Clothiers! Please email eventsteward@shirecai.calontir.org to get your heraldic garb on the list for the display! Lady Zarah bat Chesed will make sure your garb gets displayed and returned to you!

If you will be wearing your heraldic garb rather than have it in the display, please consider signing up to participate in the Walk Through History!  You can sign up in advance on the form available through the event web page, or by filling out an information card at the event.

Some instructors will be making their class handouts available on a CD available at the event, and/or at the Clothiers website for a limited time after the event.  Please ask at Gate if you would like a copy of the CD, which we are distributing free of charge.

Many thanks to the many fine instructors who make it possible for us to have Clothiers Seminar!

Yours in Service,
