(Please note that this is the only accepted form of pre-payment). ACCEPS will be open until May 30, 2014, so you have until then to pre-register! In future years, if this venture is successful, the ACCEPS window of time for pre-registration will be larger.

As a reminder the site fees are:
Adult members – $50
Adult Non-members – $55
Minors (6-17) – $25
Minors (0-5) – free
Family Discount – $15 per child upon the fourth minor (6-17)

Heraldic Garb Contest And Fashion Show

Greetings, Calontir!

Konstantia, Gold Falcon Principal Herald, is sponsoring a Heraldic Garb contest and fashion show to take place at Agamemnon and Gwen’s Coronation in July in Lost Moor.

The contest is the best use of heraldry in one’s garb, whether it be personal heraldry, kingdom heraldry, badges, etc. This promises to be fun, and it’s a great way to get in touch with your own heraldry as your persona would have.

There is a need for judges and prizes. If you can contribute, please let Konstantia know via email! Also, please tell your local groups!

SCA Board Apology Regarding Guest Pass Issue

Unto Their Royal Majesties of Calontir, Martino and Ariel, and to Mistress Lynette Dave’jean, Exchequer of Calontir-

I am writing You as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. to express our sincerest apologies for the unfortunate situation which recently arose concerning the delivery of event guest passes to new members within the Kingdom of Calontir.

It was entirely due to poor communication between officers of the corporation with each other, with the Directors of the Society, and with Your Majesties and Your officers.

Your Exchequer, Mistress Lynette, and the Calontir Kingdom Seneschal, Master Murdoch, acted entirely in good faith on information which had previously been supplied to them by the Society Seneschal, and there was no fault or wrong doing on their part.

It was a failing on the part of our corporate officers to communicate more updated information concerning ongoing discussions about the creation and administration of an event pass program which will benefit the organization and its branches as a whole in the recruitment and retention of new members.

Please be assured that we are working to determine the best method for an event pass process that will meet the communities needs while allowing for the useful tracking of its impact and success. We are working to define a clear corporate-wide policy on this topic for publication, and working to ensure that this type of poor communication and miscommunication does not occur in the future.

We will also be communicating with our officers involved in this situation at all levels regarding the appropriate methods to ensure that open and appropriate communication occurs between necessary offices and branches, striving to ensure that this kind of confusing and counterproductive situation does not occur again.

This apology was read in it entirety today during the public quarterly meeting of the SCA Board of Directors as the first item in the Executive Session section. Your Majesties, Mistress Lynette, and Master Murdoch may also post or distribute this letter in any way You wish to the members of Your populace to assure the information reaches them as You feel most appropriate.

Again, please accept our heartfelt apology to You, Your officers, and kingdom.

Sincerely,

Hal Simon
Chairman of the Board
Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.
